Shikhar Dhawan, who is playing in his 200th IPL match today, has amassed a record of 6,000 runs in the IPL, including being the 2nd player to do so.
Chennai Super Kings – Punjab Kings clashed in the IPL match today(25 Apr 2022). This match will be the 200th IPL match for Punjab Kings opener Shikhar Dhawan. He set a record within minutes of the start of the match. He scored over 6000 runs in the IPL series. Dhawan is the second player to achieve this feat after Virat Kohli.
In the same match, Dhawan set another record. Overall he crossed 9000 runs in 20 overs cricket. Dhawan became the third Indian to achieve this feat after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Dhawan hit 59 off 59 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes.
Dhawan thus topped the list of highest run scorers in their 200th IPL match. Earlier, Mumbai’s Rohit Sharma had scored a maximum of 68 runs in his 200th IPL match. Dhawan also topped the list of players who have scored the most runs against an IPL team. He has amassed 1022 runs against Chennai Super Kings alone. Rohit Sharma is the second highest scorer with 1018 runs for Kolkata.
