Ajith’s Thunivu to release for Pongal, set to clash with Varisu

Thunivu by Ajith is set to be released in January 2023, around the Pongal festival. Boney Kapoor, the producer, has officially announced the news on his social media.

The release dates and clash between Ajith’s Thunivu and Vijay’s Varisu have sparked speculation among fans. Varisu was originally planned as a Pongal film, whereas Thunivu was originally planned as a Deepavali film. However, the film’s production could not be completed, forcing the filmmakers to make the difficult decision to postpone the release.

The release dates are now the focus of everyone’s attention. Both films are rumoured to be released on the same day. Varisu, according to rumours, will arrive a day early.

Ajith and Vijay’s films- Veeram and Jilla – were released on the same day in January 2014. Both movies collected almost the exact figures after the theatrical run.

The year 2022 has been a fantastic one for Tamil cinema. Vikram and Ponniyin Selvan 1 were released in three months and did extremely well at the box office. Within the state, they both made around 500 crores.
