KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Baby collects Rs. 42 crores in India in first week, with an extraordinary trend
- Huge profits for its distributors by film, just Rs. 6 crores rate, earned Rs. 20 crores already
The Telugu film “Baby” has had an extraordinary first week at the Indian box office, amassing a remarkable Rs. 42 crores in just seven days. What sets it apart is its exceptional trending pattern, displaying consistent performance throughout the week. After making impressive gains during the weekend, the film maintained its momentum with rock-steady earnings on weekdays.
On its opening day, “Baby” collected Rs. 5 crores, and what’s even more remarkable is that on the seventh day, Thursday, it retained over 80 per cent of that initial figure. Such a trend in the Telugu states is unprecedented, given that the market is often frontloaded, even for smaller films, as opposed to what is commonly seen in other markets. “Baby” has proven to be a rare and exceptional success story in the Telugu film industry.
The box office collections of Baby at the Indian box office are as follows:
Friday:Â Rs. 5.25 crores
Saturday:Â Rs. 6.25 crores
Sunday:Â Rs. 7.50 crores
Monday:Â Rs. 7.50 crores
Tuesday:Â Rs. 6.25 crores
Wednesday:Â 5 crores
Thursday:Â Rs. 4.25 crores
Total: Rs. 42 crores
The movie “Oppenheimer” has proven to be a lucrative investment for its backers, thanks to its low production costs. The distribution rights for the Telugu states were acquired for a modest sum of Rs. 6 crores, but the film has already surpassed expectations, earning a share of Rs. 20 crores in its first week alone. As the movie continues to perform well, it is projected to generate even higher returns, with the final share in the Telugu states estimated to exceed Rs. 30 crores, and possibly reaching Rs. 40 crores in the upcoming weeks. These anticipated profits are comparable to some of the biggest blockbusters released recently. The film’s surplus earnings are expected to come close to the success of “Waltair Veeraya,” which also achieved a remarkable Rs. 100 crores share in the Telugu states earlier this year.
The territorial breakdown for box office collections of Baby is as follows:
Nizam: Rs. 18.25 crores (Rs. 8.50 crores share)

Ceeded: Rs. 4.50 crores (Rs. 3 crores share)
