OMG 2 Receives A Certification Without Cuts After Intense Discussions with CBFC

After weeks of discussions and issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the social dramedy “OMG 2” directed by Amit Rai and starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam has finally obtained its censor certificate. The film has been classified as ‘A – Adults Only’ with a runtime of 2 hours and 36 minutes.

The film had been a topic of discussion on social media due to speculations about possible cuts it might have to undergo. However, sources close to the development have confirmed that “OMG 2” will not be subjected to any cuts. Instead, some scenes, dialogues, and characters have been modified by the makers after discussions with the censor board members.

Despite the recent battle between the “OMG 2” team and the CBFC lasting for two weeks, the film is set to release on its scheduled date of August 11, 2023. This marks a significant victory for the creative team. The film’s marketing campaign will now intensify leading up to the release, with the trailer expected to be unveiled in the next two days.

Initially, the makers of “OMG 2” were vying for a U/A certificate. However, the idea was dropped when the revising committee demanded numerous cuts that would have affected the film’s narrative. In order to maintain the integrity of the story, the makers chose to opt for an ‘A’ certification instead. By doing so, they respected the modifications suggested by the board and aimed to provide an uncompromised storytelling experience for the audience.

“OMG 2” serves as a sequel to the 2012 cult film “Oh My God.” The team behind the movie is confident in recreating the same magic that captivated audiences previously and aims to make a mark at the box office upon its release.

Stay tuned to cini36.com for further updates on “OMG 2,” as the film prepares to hit the theaters with its unaltered and engaging narrative.
