CBI 5: The Brain is an upcoming Malayalam language mystery thriller film directed by K. Madhu and written by S. N. Swami. The film stars Mammootty reprising his role as Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer Sethurama Iyer along with an ensemble cast. It is the fifth installment of CBI film series. The film stars Renji Panicker, Anoop Menon, Mukesh, Saikumar, Jagathy Sreekumar, Sudev Nair, Soubin Shahir, Ansiba Hassan, Malavika Menon, Malavika Nair and Swasika in the lead roles.
The trailer of the film has been released and well received. The soundtrack and score is composed by Jakes Bejoy in his first collaboration with Mammootty. The audio rights for the film were bought by Saina. For the main theme of the film, Jakes recreated the original theme from the first film composed by Shyam.
“If a thief asks for a boon, he is shown a way on how to steal. If a cop asks for a boon. He will be taught how to catch that thief. God is not partial. Just demand and supply.” This dialogue in the CBI 5: The Brain was enough for the audience to understand that the iconic mastermind Sethurama Iyer is making his fifth outing in a more powerful and impactful way. The recently released trailer is now trending on the streaming platform Youtube. The film is set to be released on 1 May 2022.
