“D Block” is an action thriller film directed by debutant director Vijay Kumar Rajendran. Produced by cinematographer Aravinnd Singh under the banner MNM Films. Presented by Sakthi Film Factory. The film stars Arulnithi Avantika Mishra, Karu Palaniappan, Charandeep, Thalaivasal Vijay, Ramesh Khanna and Uma Riyaz Khan. The film’s soundtrack and music composed by Ron Ethan Yohann and Kaushik Krish. Cinematography handled by Aravinnd Singh himself and editing was done by Ganesh Siva.
The director Vijay Kumar Rajendran said that, “D Block is based on real life incidents that took in the life of my sister. The majority of the filming takes place in a college hostel where supernatural incidents are felt in a girl’s hostel.” Arulnithi is playing the role of a college student and Avantika, Karu Palaniappan and Uma Riaz plays the supporting characters.
The first single from the film titled “Ice Katti Kuruvi” was released by Think Music India. The title of the film and the first look poster of the film were revealed by director Pandiraj via Twitter. the trailer was released by Nelson Dilipkumar, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Venkat Prabhu. The film was given a “U/A” certificate by Central Board of Film Certification. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on 01 July 2022.
