Day 3 box office numbers for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” show a “good” opening weekend for the Ryan Coogler-directed film.

With the eagerly anticipated release of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” the box office roared back to life. The Ryan Coogler-directed follow-up to the multibillion dollar Marvel blockbuster did well at the Indian box office, taking in a total of Rs 39 crore nett.

Boxofficeindia.com reported that the movie made an estimated Rs 13.75 crore on Sunday. The superhero film made Rs 11.75 crore in its first day at the box office and Rs 13.75 crore on Saturday. The movie was able to maintain its audience on Sunday, setting up an estimated weekend gross of Rs 40 crore.

The Hindi dubbed version of the movie did ok at the box office, but the film did well across the Hindi belts. Even though the film had a strong weekend, its earnings pale in comparison to those of other Marvel superhero movies, which made a big splash in the first three days before gradually losing ground the following week.

The performance of “Wakanda Forever” is yet to be seen, but even if there is a decline in attendance, it is anticipated to perform well and position itself for a fruitful run at the Indian box office.

For the movie to continue dominating the box office for the rest of the week and become a HIT, it must do so on Monday.

Over 4,396 theatres in the United States and Canada sold tickets for “Wakanda Forever,” which brought in $180 million overseas. As a result, it had the second-largest debut of the year, just behind “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” It earned an additional $150 million from 50 foreign markets, bringing its global haul to $330 million.
