Everything releasing this week in theatres and on streaming OTT platform, including “Liger,” “Delhi Crime S2,” and “Samaritan”

Bollywood fans this week have a variety of choices on OTT and in theatres. The eagerly anticipated Delhi Crime season 2 debuts concurrently with Huma Qureshi’s Maharani. Regarding theatrical releases, Sylvester Stallone’s Samaritan and the horror thriller The Invitation will be joining Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger in theatres. The latter, though, is an OTT direct release.

Here is a list of every movie opening this week on theatre screens and OTT platforms:

Delhi Crime Season 2 (Netflix) August 26

Vartika Chaturvedi, played by Shefali Shah, will take on a new case in the Netflix series’ return. The Delhi police are tasked with solving a number of murders in the city this time. Police believe that an old serial killer has returned and is currently at large in the city as the department battles budget cuts. Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Adil Hussain, Anurag Arora, and others play crucial roles in it as well.

Liger (Theatres) August 26

Liger, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, will hit theatres this weekend. The movie centres on an underdog fighter who works hard to break into the MMA fraternity. Mike Tyson makes his acting debut in Indian cinema in the Hindi and Telugu movie, which also features him in a lengthy cameo.

The Invitation (Theaters) August 26

The vampire adaptation of Samara Weaving’s Ready Or Not is this horror film. The movie centres on Nathalie Emmanuel, who attempts to contact her abducted family but instead finds herself accepted as the sacrificial bride into a vampire coven. The teaser suggests some bloody, graphic action with a fierce female lead.

Maharani Season 2 (SonyLIV) August 25

Season 2 of Maharani will feature a comeback from Huma Qureshi. According to the trailer, Rani has grown tired of being used as a pawn and is preparing to challenge her husband for the throne this season. Soham Shah, Amit Sial, Pramod Pathak, Kani Kasruti, Vishwa Bhanu, and Anuja Sathe also play significant roles in the programme.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (Theaters) August 26

In Dragon Ball Super, The Red Ribbon Army from Goku’s earlier days makes a comeback. According to the movie’s official synopsis, Goku once destroyed the Red Ribbon Army, but those who uphold its spirit have made the ultimate Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. Once more, Goku will be seen battling them to defend the planet. Gohan will regain his former glory as a formidable saiyajin in the movie as well.

Samaritan (Amazon Prime Video) August 26

Sylvester Stallone plays the title character in Julius Avery’s superhero action film Samaritan. The movie centres on a former superhero who has been hiding out until he is found by a young boy. After 25 years, he must confront his past, come back into the spotlight, and defend the city from its gravest danger.

Criminal Justice Season 3 (Disney+ Hotstar) August 26

Pankaj Tripathi starrer Criminal Justice is returning for an awaited season 3. This time Madhav Mishra has to defend a client that does not trust him. Madhav has to uncover his past and the secrets behind the murder all while trying to prove Mukul Ahuja did not kill his sister, also a famous child actress.
