Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has praised Neeraj Chopra, the gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, for breaking his own national record in Javelin throw. Returning to the tournament for the first time since the Tokyo event, Neeraj Chopra set a new national record of 89.30 meters at the Paavo Nurmi Games 2022, the Continental Tour event in Turku, Finland on 14 June 2022. At the Tokyo Olympics, he shot 87.58 meters and won the gold medal. At present, He breaked his own record and set a new record of 89.30 meters.
