Although England won the third and last T20 between England and India, it was Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant century that attracted the Indian fans. Chasing a target of 216 runs, Suryakumar Yadav came to the field when the Indian team lost two wickets for 13 runs. It was Suryakumar who handled the pressure skillfully to take away his wicket. He handled the England bowlers with ease, scoring a half century in 31 balls and another half century in 17 balls to hit a century.
This is his first century in T20 International cricket. He scored 117 runs off 55 balls. It included 14 fours and 6 sixes. He entertained by flying balls all over the ground.
Former Indian cricket team opener Akash Chopra has praised Suryakumar’s performance. He said, “Suriya kumar’s knock was not only action packed and gutsy too. There was a lot to learn about the game as well. He knew where the fielders were and where the bowlers were going to bowl and he had a sense of play.
