The modified match was part of last year’s five-match Test series. It had to be delayed after the fourth Test as covid-19 exploded in the Indian camp. Both teams will be under new captains and coaches in the re-scheduled game.
India came back strongly from 99 runs behind to win the 4th Test by a margin of 151 runs. Last time the two teams met was in September 2021 in the fourth Test. The Indian team was all over England and was poised to win the Test series. But the last Test was rescheduled due to Covid-19. India leads the series 2-1.
A lot has changed since that Test with new captains in charge for both teams. England find new energy and excitement with McCullum and Ben Stokes. It clinched the series against New Zealand 3-1. India, on the other hand, have made some changes in their batting order and want to find the best XI here that can give them balance and depth.
Sony Sports has the rights to broadcast the matches in England. The first test will be displayed on Sony 1 and Sony 1 HD. Live streaming of the series is available on SonyLIV.
