Sam Curran of England, an all-rounder, was acquired by Punjab Kings for a staggering amount of Rs 18.50 crore, making him the most expensive purchase in IPL auction history. In the meantime, SRH paid Rs 13.25 crores to get Curran’s fellow countryman Harry Brook. The IPL auction took place in Kochi with Kavya Maran, the daughter of SRH owner Kalanithi Maran, in attendance. Her presence wasn’t lost on the fans, who inundated Twitter with amusing memes.
