Malayankunju is a survival thriller film directed by debutant director Sajimon Prabhakar. The story of the film was written by Mahesh Narayanan. Malayankunju stars Fahadh Faasil and Rajisha Vijayan in the lead roles. Also Indrans, Jaffar Idukki and Deepak Parambol in supporting roles. Along with the script, cinematography was handled by Mahesh Narayanan. Editing work by Arju Benn. The music of the film is composed by A.R. Rahman.
The story is based on a real landslide that took place in the highlands of Kerala, as a result of which many people lost their lives, homes and relatives. The film’s music was composed by A. R. Rahman marking his return to Malayalam cinema after three decades. The first single of the film “Cholappenne” sung by Vijay Yesudas was released and well received. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on 22 July 2022.
