The production of Mammootty’s new film Kaathal is currently in full swing. Jeo Baby directed the film, which stars popular Tamil actor Jyotika as the female lead. According to a few leaked set photos, Mammootty plays a politician named Mathew Devassy, a left-wing election candidate.
Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria wrote the script for Kaathal. Lalu Alex, Muthumani, Chinnu Chandni, Sudhi Kozhikode, Anagha Akku, Josi Sijo, and Adarsh Sukumaran also appear in the film.
The film will be distributed by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, with support from Mammotty’s home production banner Mammootty Kampany. Jeo Baby has kept his core team from The Great Indian Kitchen, including cinematographer Salu K Thomas, editor Francies Louis, and music director Mathews Pulickal.
Mammootty’s next film will star Christopher and Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam. Christopher is an investigative thriller written and directed by B Unnikrishnan. The upcoming International Film Festival of Kerala will feature Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, Mammootty’s first collaboration with Lijo Jose Pellissery (IFFK).
