Jailer is an eagerly awaited Indian Tamil-language action comedy film, directed and written by Nelson and produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures. The film boasts an ensemble cast, headlined by the legendary Rajinikanth in the titular role. Alongside him, the movie features acclaimed actors like Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Mirnaa Menon, and Tamannaah Bhatia.

The film’s journey began with its official announcement in February 2022, initially known as Thalaivar 169, being Rajinikanth’s 169th film. However, the official title “Jailer” was unveiled in June, sparking further excitement among fans. Principal photography commenced in Chennai in August 2022 and concluded in June 2023, signifying the dedication put into the project.

For the film’s musical score, the talented Anirudh Ravichander takes the reins, promising an enticing and memorable soundtrack. The movie’s visuals are captured brilliantly by cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, and the editing work is in the capable hands of R. Nirmal.
