Since the filmmakers revealed Mohanlal’s appearance from the set of “Jailer,” online users have been drawing comparisons between his character and Dr Sunny, who was portrayed by the actor in the blockbuster movie “Manichitrathazhu.” In his more than three-decade-long career, Mohanlal, who will make a brief appearance in Rajinikanth’s movie, will work alongside the superstar for the first time.
On the sets of “Jailer,” Mohanlal may be seen standing close to a window wearing spectacles. There is only his profile visible. One Facebook user said, “Dr. Sunny,” while another said, “His appearance is a blend of Manichithrathazhu and Devadoothan.” In “Devadoothan,” Mohanlal plays Vishal, a long-haired and bearded musician, in contrast to his role as Dr. Sunny, a psychiatrist who wears glasses in “Manichithrathazhu.”
According to rumours, Mohanlal has already started filming in Hyderabad for the movie and will stay there for next two days. The protagonist of “Jailer” is a person named Muthuvel Pandian. The action drama directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar is scheduled to open in theatres in April. Ramya Krishnan, who starred in “Baahubali,” will also play the lead in the movie.
