According to BCCI sources, Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who narrowly avoided a terrible vehicle accident last week, underwent successful knee surgery at a Mumbai hospital. “On Friday, Rishabh Pant had successful knee ligament surgery. He’ll be watched closely. The BCCI sports science and medical staff will follow Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala’s recommendations for further courses of action and rehabilitation “PTI was told by a BCCI source.
Dr. Pardiwala, Director of Arthroscopy & Shoulder Service and Head of the Centre for Sports Medicine, oversaw the procedure at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Andheri West.
Since Pant was unable to fly on a commercial airline, he was transported from Dehradun to Mumbai via air ambulance.
The 25-year-old sustained several injuries after his racing automobile hit a divider and caught fire as he was travelling from Delhi to Roorkee to surprise his family members in the early hours of December 30.
