SS Rajamouli’s period action drama “RRR” has finally entered the 1000 crore club today. The box office of the 16th day of the film grossed over ₹ 1000 crores worldwide. RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR was unstoppable at the box office. RRR is a fictional story of two Indian freedom fighters from the early 20th century – played by Alluri Sitarama(Ram Charan) and Kumaram Beem(Jr.NTR).
Rajamouli said that RRR has a lot of praise from the audience, but the significant difference is that the number of Western viewers likes the film.
“I notice something like this, so many people like my film, so next time I make a film I have to keep this in mind. I should not let it bother me, it should weigh me down, but I should think that there is a wide audience to hear your story. It’s not the numbers, but the love and appreciation that comes from different audiences that is very important” – said Rajamouli.
The Hindi version of the film alone is said to have grossed over ₹ 200 crore at the box office.
When the film was postponed several times, the crew was not sure about the occupation of the theaters. From the audience side, I have no doubt, I always hoped that if the film came out, they would come to the theater. But from the health department side, it is not known when that will come. Those are the anxious moments for all the films. When the theaters opened, RRR brought audiences back to the theaters, which was a huge achievement for me – said Rajamouli.
