All RRR lovers should be happy to hear this! The film directed by SS Rajamouli has been selected for the Oscars 2023 shortlist. The song Naatu Naatu from the movie has been shortlisted for the award for best song. It is now one of the 15 songs out of 81 that have been chosen. Other songs on the list, in addition to Naatu Naatu, are “Nothing Is Lost” from Avatar: The way of Water, “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick, among others.
RRR was submitted individually for 14 categories as part of the “For your consideration” campaign and was not included in India’s official Oscar submission. “We appreciate everyone who has supported us over the past few months and shown appreciation for our movie. Naatu Naatu has also been nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Original Song, it was previously reported. In addition to this, the movie has received five nominations for Critics’ Choice Awards. Prior to this, the music director of RRR, MM Keeravani, won the Los Angeles Film Critics Association’s Best Music Score award by defeating Pawe Mykietyn for EO.
