andeep Singh, known for his work in the film industry, makes his directorial debut with the movie ‘Safed.’ The plot revolves around an unconventional love story between Chaandi, portrayed by Abhay Verma, who plays a transgender person, and Kaali, portrayed by Meera Chopra, who plays a widow. This unique perspective on love challenges societal norms and questions preconceived notions about relationships.

The film’s first look was unveiled at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2022, with the renowned music composer AR Rahman doing the honors. The glimpse provided to the audience has generated much anticipation for the movie’s release.

Despite being only 70 minutes long, ‘Safed’ manages to pack an emotional punch, captivating the viewers with its powerful storytelling. The movie features a talented ensemble of actors, including Barkha Bisht, Jameel Khan, and Chhaya Kadam, who play significant roles in the narrative.

Undoubtedly, the soul-stirring music of the film is one of its standout aspects, boasting seven romantic songs sung by celebrated singers such as Sonu Nigam, Rekha Bhardaj, Shilpa Rao, Shail Hada, Shashi Suman, Jazim Sharma, and Suvarna Tiwari.

Anand Pandit, a key part of the project, takes pride in supporting a film that fearlessly explores unusual and important themes. Sandeep Singh skillfully portrays love blossoming between two individuals of different genders amidst the rugged backdrop of Banaras, adding depth to the story.

Nervous at first, he gained confidence from director Sandeep’s unwavering belief in him. His commitment to the role led to profound emotional changes that stayed with him long after filming concluded.

Initially uncertain, she found solace in Sandeep’s guidance, delivering a compelling performance that highlights the struggles of being a widow. She feels privileged to have been entrusted with such an important and captivating role.
