After The Night Manager, Sandeep Modi will next take the helm of a sizable action movie starring Karan Johar, which is anticipated to start production before the end of the year.

Karan Johar has hired highly acclaimed directors Vasan Bala and Neeraj Ghaywan to helm a feature film under his brand, Dharma Production, Pinkvilla exclusively revealed on February 14. Neeraj is working on an intense human drama for the brand while Vasan will be directing an action movie. Both movies are now in pre-production and are expected to start shooting this year. And now, we can exclusively reveal that Sandeep Modi, the creator of the newly launched online series The Night Manager, has inked a two film contract with Karan.

Sandeep Modi to make an action film for Dharma

“Sandeep has been working on a script for the past two years, and the details of the plot are now set in stone on paper. A high-budget action movie for Dharma Production is his upcoming project as director. The team is looking to mount a big action film, so even though the script is mostly set at this point, the movie will go into pre-production by the summer of this year, according to a source familiar with the project. The source also stated that the movie will begin production by the end of this year.

The casting process for the big-star-cast movie will start this summer. He already has a concept that Karan Johar has approved, but the specifics of his second picture with Dharma are unknown at this time, the person continued. Dharma is now broadening its scope by investigating material with filmmakers from other filmmaking schools. Sandeep is also the director of two more critically acclaimed films, Chumbak with Swanand Kirkire and Arya with Ram Madhvani, in addition to The Night Manager.

They are in discussions with several more Hindi film industry filmmakers, and a list of forthcoming movies will be released soon.
