Mahesh Babu is a money lender and debt collector, has a sad story. Despite his past troubles, he made a name for himself and established his own fund in the United States. He makes good use of those hunting skills when he meets Kalaavathi (Keerthi Suresh). Keerthi Suresh acts as a gambling addict. She walks into Mahesh Babu life in beautiful saree, flowers in hair, books in hand, posing as anything. While the red flags she emanates can be seen from a mile away by his friend Kishore (Vennela Kishore).
Keerthy Suresh takes a loan from Mahesh Babu and fails to repay it. An upset Mahesh warns her. But Kalaavathi tries to cheat him. Kalaavathi brings her powerful dad Rajendranath(Samuthirakani) politician, into the picture. Left with no choice, Mahesh comes to India to get his money back. But what Rajendranath and Kalavathi do not know is that Mahesh Babu’s another agenda. But bigger problems land him in a deep mess. What problem is that? Who is this Rajendranath? How did Mahesh deal with him? Tells the rest of the story.
The film has a social message backing it up. What starts as a love story turns into an unnecessary ego war between two men and soon snowballs into a mini revolution against the banking system, nay exploitation.
Mahesh Babu’s glamour, screen presence, comedy timing, action incarnation will keep the audience glued together. Mahesh looks very smart and handsome in his powerful character.
Love track is good in the first half. Mahesh Babu and his comedy time are very good during these romantic episodes. Keerthi Suresh played a character with a slight negative touch and was refreshing to look at. His chemistry with Mahesh is excellent.
The villain character is very important to the film and Samuthirakani is the perfect fit. Vennella Kishore’s comedy is very good and the one line he shares with Mahesh was great. Parasuram has handled the turn of the break well. Also, the way in which ordinary people who pay high EMIs get into trouble is visualized in a good manner.
The lyrics are so awesome and a big bonus, there is still a big upside to Thaman’s BGM for the film. A.S. Prakash’s artwork is also stunning, especially the bank sets, which are quite good. Director Parasuram had narrated the second half in a more dramatic manner and added strong emotions but the output would have been even better.
