Kovai Sarala’s ‘Sembi’ set for its OTT premiere on February 3
The OTT debut of “Sembi,” starring Kovai Sarala and others, is scheduled on February 3. The story of the movie revolves around a bus named Anbu that tells the tales of its 24 passengers as it travels from Kodaikanal to Dindigul. Despite leading a happy life, Kovai Sarala and her granddaughter are caught by the police.
The OTT debut of the adventure drama “Sembi” is scheduled on February 3. In addition to Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan, Thambi Ramaiah, and Nanjil Sampath playing supporting parts, the movie also stars Kovai Sarala in the lead role. Prabhu Solomon wrote and helmed the movie. Nivas K. Prasanna is a composer.
Ten-year-old Sembi and her beekeeper grandmother Veerathayi, who peacefully coexist with nature in Kodaikanal’s mountainous hills, are the main characters of the novel. Before three powerful miscreants sexually attack Sembi and crush all of their hopes, they lived a blissful existence. Sembi’s grandma is forced to drop the lawsuit after being struck by a police officer, leaving her little choice except to beat the cop to death. The two make their getaway and board the Anbu bus, which travels from Kodaikanal to Dindigul. Any 24 of the bus’s passengers, who come from a variety of backgrounds, reject all political interference while being led by a lawyer in order to aid the tribal mother and her innocent granddaughter in obtaining justice through the passage of the POCSO statute (2011). The movie proclaims, “Love their Neighbor as Love oneself,” as it shows the passengers on the “Anbu” bus travelling.

Disney+ Hotstar has acquired the streaming rights to the action/drama movie “Sembi.” The movie will be available on OTT on February 3rd, 2023. The movie will be accessible in audio versions in Tamil (original), Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada.

Most of the filming of Sembi was done near Kodaikanal. It is music composer Nivas K. Prasanna’s first collaboration with Prabhu Solomon, the writer and director of the film.

Sembi Storyline
The grandma, her granddaughter, and a bus called Anbu are major characters in the plot. Sembi, a ten-year-old granddaughter of Veerathayi (Kovai Sarala), lives with her grandmother in Kodaikanal’s mountainous areas. Up until Sembi is sexually attacked one day, their lives are calm. When Veerathayi kills a police officer while pressuring them to drop the investigation, everything changes.
They get on the Anbu bus and travel from Kodaikanal to Dindigul. As the plot develops, the 24 passengers on the bus assist Veerathayi and her granddaughter in obtaining justice under the guidance of a lawyer who is also a passenger (Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan).
