The mythical play Samantha’s Shaakuntalam is written and directed by Gunasekhar.
The movie Shaakuntalam, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is currently scheduled to open in theatres on April 14. The movie’s producers have disclosed a new release date, which is ten days beyond the film’s original intended release date. On April 14, “#Shaakuntalam” will be released in theatres all around the world, according to a tweet by the film’s creators.
Shaakuntalam, directed by Gunasekhar, is a fanciful love story that takes place in Kashyapa Kanumalu (Kashmir), the opulence and splendour of Dushyant’s Puru Dynasty. The epic love affair between Shakuntala, played by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and King Dushyant from the Mahabharata, played by Dev Mohan, is the central theme of the mythical drama. Arha, the daughter of Allu Arjun, will play Prince Bharata in the movie and make her acting debut.

Shaakuntalam, which was produced on a sizable budget based on the critically acclaimed Sanskrit drama “Abhijnana Shakuntalam” by Kalidasa, is scheduled to be released in the following languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Among the supporting cast members of Shaakuntalam are Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr. M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta, and others.
In association with Gunaa Teamworks and produced by Neelima Guna, Shaakuntalam is being presented by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations.
Neeta Lulla created Samantha’s attire, Mani Sharma composed the soundtrack, and Prawin Pudi served as the film’s editor.
The initial release date for Shaakuntalam was February 17.
