Actor Vijay Calls Meeting With Makkal Iyakkam Members For Political Debut Prep
Thalapathy Vijay convenes a crucial meeting with his political members to discuss plans for his upcoming political debut and the 2026 elections.
Chennai, July 10: Speculations are rife about Tamil superstar Vijay’s potential political entry as he has called for a meeting with members of his fans association at his Chennai residence on Tuesday morning.
According to sources, the meeting is scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
Vijay has been dropping hints about his political aspirations, and recently, he organized a felicitation event in Chennai to honor top-performing students from schools and higher secondary schools in each Assembly constituency of Tamil Nadu. The event also extended invitations to the parents of these children.
Vijay’s fans association, known as Thalapathi Vijay Makkal Iyyakam (TVMI), participated in the previous panchayat elections without a flag or symbol. Impressively, out of the 169 members from the fans association who contested in the elections, 115 emerged victorious. This was seen as a testing ground for Vijay’s potential political influence.
While political parties and leaders have expressed their support for Vijay’s entry into politics, there is a sense of uncertainty about how voters will respond to the Tamil superstar. The declining status of AIADMK and the absence of prominent leaders like J. Jayalalithaa and M. Karunanidhi have created a political void in the state, which might have influenced Vijay’s decision to enter politics.
Although Vijay has not made any explicit announcement regarding his political aspirations, his dialogues in movies have provided subtle indications of his potential political journey.
