Ravindra Jadeja’s decision to leave the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Captaincy in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 came at a time when the team was struggling. His personal form is not great either. Seeing all the factors, Jadeja called for the resignation of the captaincy. MS Dhoni, who led CSK to four titles is back as captain.
Swann said,
“We all have our favorite teams to play against, and it is very important that he has performed well against RCB in the past. The big thing Jadeja admits is, “Look, the captaincy is not in my league. I’m not comfortable with that. The male ego does not allow it to be said comfortably. So, it’s good that he did that and allowed M.S.Dhoni to come back in. CSK and this is good news everywhere and honestly, I love him. I think he’s smart. What he gives to any owner is incredible. Without him CSK would be half the team.
Former India coach Ravi Shastri said,
“Good on him to go up and said straight up that I could not cope. That’s something I’m not used to. He has never been a captain under any circumstances. So that’s good. I think we will see a different cricketer. He can do what he wants, that responsibility of being captain is gone and all three departments can come out at full strength, ”said the former India coach.
“Also, as a fielder, without worrying about who is going to throw the ball next, he will cause disaster. Because he can change games with run-outs. We have seen it over and over again. The way he hides that length on the field is contagious. He’s like a bullet in the field” he said.
