Few days before the premiere of Ajith’s Thunivu, fans and other movie enthusiasts were stunned by some unexpected news. The H Vinoth-directed movie is preparing for a massive January 11 release across numerous nations.
In a select places, like the US, UK, France, and Sri Lanka, advance ticket sales started a few days ago. Another nation that accepted reservations for the heist drama was Saudi Arabia. But it appears that there will be a problem with the movie’s distribution.
According to rumours, Thunivu may be outlawed in the nation because of its contentious nature. Sources claim that the project contains passages that insult a religion and a gender group. The booking for the heist drama has now been suspended, and some fans have turned to social media to ask the producers why.
The Saudi censorship regulations must be observed, therefore that remains to be seen. The team’s previous film, Valimai, did well financially in the region. Movie fans are now anticipating learning the film’s ultimate outcome there. However, some believe that a ban in Saudi Arabia won’t have a significant impact on the potential box office.
Today’s release of the movie has also enabled bookings in Kerala and Karnataka. Tegimpu, the Telugu adaptation of the movie, is set to start being booked. Exhibitors and distributors are debating how many slots would be allocated for the project’s early morning performances in Tamil Nadu.
Thunivu will compete at the box office with Vijay’s Varisu, which also opens that day. Telugu versions of both movies will be released simultaneously.
