Laal Singh Chaddha is a Hindi language comedy drama film directed by Advait Chandan. Screenplay written by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios and Paramount Pictures. It is an official remake of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which itself is based on Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same name. The film stars Aamir Khan as the titular character along with Kareena Kapoor and Naga Chaitanya (in his Hindi film debut). Cinematography was done by Satyajit Pande. Editing done by Hemanti Sarkar.
The film score is composed by Tanuj Tiku while the original songs featured in the film are composed by Pritam. Pritam collaborated with Aamir Khan for the 3rd time after Dhoom 3 (2013) and Dangal (2016). Lyrics for the songs are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
The trailer for the film was launched at the finale (Gujarat Titans Vs Rajasthan Royals) of 2022 Indian Premier League on 29 May 2022 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on 11 August 2022.
