Mani Ratnam’s blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 (PS-I) is slated to hit the theaters on 30 September 2022. The film has a teaser and a single release called “Ponni Nadhi” composed by A.R. Rahman. PS-I is the first part of a two-part period drama based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s Tamil novel of the same name Ponniyin Selvan. Starring Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and others. This film is produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. The distribution rights of the film in Tamil Nadu have been acquired by Lyca Productions. The digital streaming rights for the film were purchased by Amazon Prime Video. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
It has been reported that the audio launch of the film will be held on 06 September 2022 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Super Star Rajinikanth and actor Kamal Haasan are specially invited for the audio release function. Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan seem to have accepted the invitation. Along with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin is also expected to attend Ponniyin Selvan audio launch event.
