Fans of Tamil cinema had a great time at Pongal 2023 thanks to the release of two highly awaited films, Varisu and Thunivu, starring two superstars, Vijay and Ajith, respectively. While the experts predicted that only one of the movies would perform well, much to their surprise, both movies did well at the box office. Fans who missed seeing the movies in theatres will be able to see them online starting in February 2023.
On January 11, 2023, Varisu was released in theatres all across the world, doing more than anticipated. Soon, the movie will be accessible online.
On February 10, 2023, viewers may see Varisu on Amazon Prime Video. Although an official announcement is still pending, the information has so far been spread through media reports. It is believed that the movie would debut on the specified day in both Tamil and Telugu. In addition, Ajith Kumar’s movie Thunivu will be available on Netflix on the same day.
Vamshi Paidipally is the director and co-writer of Varisu, which is produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under the Sri Venkateswara Creations and PVP Cinema brands. Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna, Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Shaam, and other actors play crucial parts in the movie. Red Giant Movies and Seven Screen Studio jointly release Varisu.
The film’s cinematography was done by Karthik Palani, while its editing was done by Praveel KL. The soundtrack and songs for the movie were created by renowned music director Thaman.
The central character in Varisu is Vijay Rajendran, the youngest child and natural patriarch of the Rajendran family. Vijay is asked to leave the house since he has other goals and does not want to work for the family company. On the other side, Rajendra receives a cancer diagnosis and meets Vijay during a family gathering. Rajendran names him the company’s CEO and instructs him to take care of the firm and the family heir after seeing his personality and approach to life, family, business, and more. This causes additional problems and causes a wedge between Jai and Ajay, his brothers. In the events that follow, Vijay must demonstrate that he is a worthy heir and bring his family.
Both the public and the reviewers were impressed with Varisu, which resulted in an amazing box office performance. By the end of Day 12, Varisu had earned almost 256 crores of rupees in total. Weekends have increased the revenues, and the most recent one contributed Rs. 12.44 crores. Even on the second weekend after being in theatres for more than two weeks, the movie brought in double-digit receipts. The remainder of the worldwide box office receipts for Varisu came from the film’s run abroad after earning Rs. 150 crores in India.
