Yesterday (Jan. 11), “Thunivu,” starring Ajith, made its theatrical debut. It competed at the box office with Vijay’s “Varisu.” Both movies had a full house for their premieres, while in Tamil Nadu Ajith’s movie had slightly more screens filled. In Tamil Nadu, “Thunivu” has made over Rs 17.5 crores, surpassing Vijay’s movie by little over a crore. Due to Vijay’s movie taking the lead at the global box office, the largest conflict between the two Tamil heroes has been quite near.
According to reports, “Thunivu” made Rs 24 crores in the Indian market, and on day 1 it took in about Rs 30 crores globally. The movie “Thunivu” is expected to do well at the box office because it has good reservations and received favourable reviews on day one. In the next days, “Thunivu” and “Varisu” will both have ups and downs in their box office competitions, making it difficult to pick a winner.
The movie “Thunivu,” written and directed by H Vinoth, stars Ajith as a villain and has a powerful message for viewers. Fans have rightfully liked the movie, and Ajith has rocked it with his flair, swag, and action scenes. Along with other notable actors like Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Veera, Darshan, and Cibi Chandran, Ghibran composed the soundtrack.
