Vijay’s ‘Thalapathy 67’ with Lokesh Kanagaraj to be announced on Pongal

It appears that actor Vijay’s upcoming production will soon be revealed as “Varisu,” which eventually opened in theatres yesterday, January 11, 2023, before of Pongal. Although it is commonly known that actor Vijay’s upcoming film, provisionally titled “Thalapathy 67,” will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, there is a rumour that the project’s official announcement would be made on January 15 in honour of Pongal.

Gautham Menon, the filmmaker, has stated that he is a part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s movie. In addition to Sanjay Dutt, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Trisha, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Arjun Sarja, “Thalapathy 67” is said to star Prithviraj Sukumaran. In the meantime, Lokesh Kanagaraj has also declared that the movie will be an action comedy.

After witnessing “Varisu” yesterday, Lokesh Kanagaraj spoke to the media and stated, “After so many days, it was a relief to see him in a family-friendly movie. I really enjoyed it. It resembled seeing “Thalapathy” in the beginning of his career.” When asked about the news of his impending movie alongside Vijay, he responded, “For a very long time, we had been anticipating the release of the movie Varisu. Since it has already been published, I will personally shortly announce the date for an update.”

Fans are anxiously anticipating the formal announcement of the project since there has been much conjecture over the cast and if the movie would be a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Rumor has it that a teaser trailer, similar to the one for the Vikram movie starring Kamal Haasan, has been shot for the project announcement.
