Following the huge success of ”Sarpatta Parambarai” starring actor Arya, director Pa. Ranjith is currently directing a new film ”Vettuvam” and a new web series. The film, which is being co-produced by Neelam Productions and Golden Ratio Films, aims to present Cholan, a rural gangster in the Ponni area, as a modern Robin Hood.
The modern Robin Hood Chola, who fights for his ethnic people, stands up against oppression and kills those responsible for it. He then goes to jail to escape from the enemies and the prison authorities along with the enemies try to kill Chola. The film tells the story of a tragic incident in prison and how Cholan escapes from his enemies.
Filming for the film is set to begin later this year. The crew plans to release the film next year. Meanwhile, the first look poster for Vettuvam has been released at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival in France. The event was attended by director Pa. Ranjith, producers Abhayanand Singh, Piyush Singh, Aswini Choudhary and Aditi Anand.
