The much-awaited Thalapathy 67 project is expected to go on floors in January first week
Even while Vijay fans are eagerly anticipating the January 12 release of Varisu, they are also quite interested in their matinee idol’s Thalapathy 67 (tentative title), which is anticipated to visit theatres later in 2023. The first week of January is predicted to see the start of production on the Lokesh Kanagaraj film.
Earlier this month in Chennai, the movie’s formal premiere took place in secret. The event’s organisers took steps to prevent the disclosure of any photos or recordings. Regarding major roles in the movie, a lot of artists’ names have been circulating.
It was reported that director Gautham Menon, who has recently taken on a number of acting roles, joined the production to play a significant role. In an interview with a prominent media outlet at a roundtable discussion, the filmmaker has finally made it official.
It’s interesting to note that Lokesh took part in the discussion on the Tamil year. Cinephiles are eagerly anticipating the Kaakha Kaakha director’s role in the mafia movie, which is rumoured to be set in Mumbai. Anirudh has been in charge of music composition for Thalapathy 67, with Trisha reportedly playing the female lead.
Gautham, who most recently collaborated on Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu alongside Silambarasan this year, is working on the film’s second instalment. The project, for which AR Rahman is providing the soundtrack, is being financed by Vels Film International. He previously disclosed that the 2006 film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, which he co-wrote and directed with Kamal Haasan, is getting a follow-up.
He claims that the project would start as soon as he receives approval from the Ulaganayagan, who is now preoccupied with Indian 2.
