Vishnu Vishal plays a wrestler in the movie, and Aishwarya Lekshmi plays the lead actress.
The most recent news we have is that Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights to Vishnu Vishal’s upcoming movie, Gatta Kusthi, which is set to open in just a few days. The Telugu version of Gatta Kusthi, titled Matti Kusthi, will also be released simultaneously on December 2. The movie, which is a sports drama and is directed by Chella Ayyavu, stars Vishnu Vishal as a wrestler, and the story reportedly centres on submission wrestling. Aishwarya Lekshmi will play the lead role, with Karunas, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, Redin Kingsley, Ajay, Sreeja Ravi, and Shatru serving as the supporting actors.
On his social media account, Vishnu wrote, “My biggest film to date coming in a big way #GattaKusthi #MattiKusthi in theatres on the 2nd of December, 2022 (sic).” He had referred to this as his biggest movie to date. Everyone enjoyed the movie’s trailer, and Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s production company also shared that opinion. It should be noted that Aamir Khan previously appeared in Dangal as a wrestler. After that, Vishnu thanked the actor on his social media accounts. “Can’t be thankful enough for everything that is happening,” he wrote. I appreciate you sharing the trailer on your production company page, Aamir Khan sir, and for liking it personally. This is so meaningful to me. #dreamscometrue my hero #AamirKhan:) #MattiKusthiTrailer #GattaKusthiTrailer (sic).”
Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi have been touring southern cities as part of the film’s promotion, which has been in full swing. Yesterday, the pre-release event took place in Hyderabad, and well-known Tollywood star Ravi Teja was there as well.
Prasanna GK did the editing, Richard M. Nathan did the cinematography, and Justin Prabahakaran composed the music for Gatta Kusthi. The movie is being distributed by Red Giant Movies and was funded by RT Team Works and Vishnu Vishal Studioz.
