It appears that filmmaker Lingusamy has opted to make a sequel to his 2010 action romance, Paiyya, as his most recent films have only received mediocre reviews and box office reception. The director reportedly approached Arya to play the lead role and has already begun pre-production on Paiyaa 2. Karthi and Tamannaah played the leading parts in the original.
The project’s progress was verified to us by a source close to the team, who added, “The sequel is presently in the writing stage. Once he has finished the final screenplay, Lingusamy will decide on the cast. To portray the lead part, he has started negotiations with Arya, who had previously appeared in his Vettai.
It’s possible that the Sandakozhi filmmaker will produce the movie under his own label. It’s interesting to note that Lingusamy is reportedly thinking about casting Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor as Arya’s love interest.
