The 2023 summer edition of the popular British dating reality series premiered on June 5, with Maya Jama returning as the host and Iain Stirling reprising his role as the narrator. The winners of Love Island UK 10 were Jess Harding and Sammy Root, who triumphed over their fellow finalists Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nawacki. In the third position were Ella Thomas and Tyrique Hyde, while Molly Marsh and Zach Noble secured the fourth spot. Sammy initially thought he would leave the show in week one but was pleasantly surprised to find love with Jess and eventually win the show alongside her. He confessed to Jess about his feelings, stating, “When I saw you walking towards the fire pit on your own after Casa, I instantly knew that you were all that I wanted – my wandering eye turned into my eye for Jess.”
Both members of the winning couple are 22 years old, with Jess hailing from Uxbridge and Sammy from Kent. Their journey began when Sammy entered the villa as a bombshell on day four, and they quickly found a strong connection with each other. The final public vote eliminated Mitchel and Ella B, leaving the four finalists to compete for the ultimate prize. Once the final voting was closed, Jess and Sammy were announced as the deserving winners.
In Love Island UK 2023, Jess, the owner of a beauty clinic, came into the villa with a “long list of icks” while searching for Mr. Right. Sammy, a project manager who described himself as a “firework,” was looking for a girl with “a nice bum, an amazing personality, and family-oriented.” The second-runner-ups, Tyrique and Ella, had their own aspirations, with Tyrique, a semi-professional footballer, hoping to “score big in the villa,” and Ella, a model, ready to prove she is “wifey material.”
The previous installment of the show, the winter edition of 2023, crowned Kai Fagan & Sanam Harrinanan as the winners of the ninth season. It aired from January 16 to March 13, 2023, and the 25-acre Ludus Magnus estate in the Franschhoek served as the villa. For the recently concluded summer edition, the main villa was Sa Vinyassa in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, the Casa Amor was held at the Alchemy Villa, and the Vibe Club took place at the Shiva Beach Club in Llucmajor.
