Remember the 2018 release of director Vijay’s film Lakshmi? The film had only a few surprises to offer, one of which was Ditya Bhande’s performance. The little girl’s portrayal of the titular character was a lot of fun to watch in the otherwise disappointing film.
Vijay appears to have created a series that appears to be an extended version of the film. Interestingly, Ditya Bhande plays one of the pivotal characters in the film, titled Five Six Seven Eight. Sai Pallavi recently released the trailer for the series.
Its plot revolves around a group of young children from disadvantaged backgrounds competing in a dance competition against a group of privileged children. What happens next shapes the rest of the plot. AL Alagappan and Hitesh Thakkur produced the series, which was written by Mrudhula Sridharan and Vijay.
Vijay, along with Prasanna JK and Mrudhula Sridharan, directed Five Six Seven Eight. Anthony and Sam CS handled cinematography and music direction, respectively, for the project, which stars Nagendra Prasad, Chinni Prakash, and Vivek Jogdande.
On November 18, Zee5 will release Five Six Seven Eight. According to a press release issued by the producers, Vijay stated that he chose to do the series because there aren’t enough movies or shows based on dance in the south.
Vijay’s last film, Thalaivii, starred Kangana Ranaut and was released a year ago. He had recently announced The Madras Murder, a SonyLIV project. It is based on a true story that occurred in the 1940s.
