Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank is a computer-animated martial arts comedy film directed by Rob Minkoff & Mark Koetsier. Co-directed by Chris Bailey. Written by Ed Stone and Nate Hopper. The film is inspired by the 1974 Mel Brooks film Blazing Saddles. This film features the voices of Michael Cera, Ricky Gervais, Mel Brooks, George Takei, Aasif Mandvi, Gabriel Iglesias, Djimon Hounsou, Michelle Yeoh, and Samuel L. Jackson. Editing was done by Michael W. Andrews. Music for the film was composed by Bear McCreary.
His down-on-his-luck dog named Hank is in need of a hero to protect them from Ika chu’s evil plot to destroy their village in a town full of cats. With the help of former samurai, Jimbo, as his apprentice, the underdog must become a samurai and team up with the cats to save the day. The only problem is that they all hate dogs.
Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank premiered in Los Angeles on 10 July 2022. The film is scheduled to release theatrically in the United States on 15 July 2022, by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies.
