New Delhi: Mani Ratnam’s massive period drama Ponniyin Selvan 1 (PS 1) is now approaching the 500 crore mark in worldwide collections. The film, which wowed audiences with its grandeur, performances, and master storytelling, is now available on a digital platform. Ponniyin Selvan 1 is now available to watch on Amazon Prime Video. The film is currently available for rental.
Ponniyin Selvan 1 can be rented for Rs 199 for a week and then streamed for free for Prime Video subscribers, according to a tweet by Amazon prime. Except for Hindi, the film will be available on the OTT platform in four languages.
Ponniyin Selvan 1 is a two-part magnum opus written, directed, and co-produced by Mani Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under Lyca Productions. Mani Ratnam co-wrote the script with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan.
AR Rahman composed the film’s music. Ponniyin Selvan is a film based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s historical fiction novel of the same name. On the big screen, PS 1 stars Ash alongside south actor Karthi. In the period drama, the actress will play Queen Nandini, while Trisha will play Kundavai.
