Arul Saravanan, owner of Saravana Stores and entrepreneur, made his acting debut at the age of 52 with the recently released Tamil film “The Legend”. The Legend is made with a budget of Rs. 100 crores. For a debutant, Arul Saravanan the film’s producer, ensured that the release was widespread. This has now been reflected in The Legend’s first day box office collection, which stood at Rs. 2 crores. This figure is more than the opening day collection of Bollywood movie Dhaakad’s which was just Rs. 40 to 50 lakhs. Kangana Ranaut starrer Dhaakad was made with a budget of Rs. 80 crore. The Legend is expected to soon surpass the lifetime collection of the Dhaakad which stands at Rs. 2.85 crore in total. Taapsee Pannu starrer Shabaash Mithu is another Bollywood film recently opened to a low Rs. 40 lakh at the box office collection. Shabaash Mithu was made on a budget of Rs. 30 crore. Released to a bigger fanfare than The Legend, but ultimately grossed Rs. 2.12 crores in total.
