The trailer for the Ajith-starring movie “Thunivu” was launched yesterday (Dec. 31) in time for the New Year. In his baddie persona, Ajith was slick and brutal, and the video of him ever since has gone viral online. The “Thunivu” teaser is receiving praise from not just fans but also a number of celebrities, and social media is overrun with messages about the Ajith starrer. However, the “Thunivu” video only received 25 million views and 1.1 million likes in the first day, falling short of Vijay’s “Beast” trailer, which received 30 million views and 2.2 million likes in the same period.
In “Thunivu,” a bank heist will take place, and Ajith will play the bad guy. Ghibran composed the soundtrack for the heist thriller, which also stars Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, Veera, John Kokken, GM Sundar, and Ajay in pivotal parts. Even though “Thunivu “‘s” trailer generated excitement for the movie, “Beast” and a few other movies have been linked to “Thunivu” on social media because of how similar their trailers appear to each other.
Pongal is the planned release date for “Thunivu,” which will compete at the box office with Vijay’s “Varisu.” The Pongal flicks from Ajith and Vijay will clash on the same day, and the two competitors are engaged in a box office battle.
