Vaathi is an action drama film written and directed by Venky Atluri. Shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu languages. Actor Dhanush is acting in a live Telugu film for the first time titled “Sir”. Produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The film features Dhanush and Samyuktha Menon in the lead roles. Also P. Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, Hyper Aadhi, Shara, Aadukalam Naren, Ilavarasu, Motta Rajendran, Hareesh Peradi and Praveena plays the supporting characters. Cinematography handled by J. Yuvaraj. Editing was done by Naveen Nooli. Music composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar.

Balamurugan is a third-grade junior lecturer at Tirupati Educational Institute (DEI), where he stands against institutions that educate children for commercial profit. It can be seen in the teaser that this story is centered around the education system. Dhanush has played the role of Balamurugan.
