Ranjit Jeyakodi is the director of the upcoming Vijay Sethupathi movie Michael, which will also be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
On February 3, Michael, a new movie starring Sundeep Kishan and actor Vijay Sethupathi, will be released in theatres. There will be Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam versions of the Ranjit Jeyakodi-directed movie.
Fans and the media refer to him as “Makkal Selvan,” which translates to “people’s treasure.” Sethupathi has so far appeared in more than 50 movies. Sethupathi began his career as a background actor, mostly taking on the role of a friend of the lead characters in a few films and making appearances in television series, such as “Naalaya Iyakkunar” for Kalaignar TV. Sethupathi joined the Chennai-based theatre company Koothu-P-Pattarai as an accountant where he observed actors up close. He played the lead in Seenu Ramasamy’s 2010 film Thenmerku Paruvakaatru before going on to become well-known for his roles in the 2012 thriller Pizza and the comic entertainment Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom (2012).
Along with the multi-starrer “Chekka Chivantha Vaanam” by Mani Ratnam and the romantic drama “96” by C. Prem Kumar, Sethupathi is best known for the films “Seethakaathi” by Balaji Tharaneetharan, “Super Deluxe” by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, and “Petta” by Karthik Subbaraj, all of which starred Rajinikanth.
Sethupathi has recently been seen in the February 2021 releases of the Telugu film “Uppena” and the Tamil romantic action anthology “Kutty Story.” He also portrayed the adversary in the Vijay-starring Tamil action drama “Master” from January 2021 and the Kamal Haasan-starring “Vikram” from last June.
Sethupathi is best known for his roles in the Tamil films Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara (2013), Panaiyarum Padminiyum (2014), Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum (2016), Iraivi (2016), Vikram Vedha (2017), 96 (2018), Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018), Petta (2019), Super Deluxe (2019), Master (2021), Kaathuvaakula Re (2021).
