Jai Bhim, which hit screens on Amazon Prime, recently completed one year of release
According to industry rumours, Suriya will most likely collaborate with Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel on another project. The director admitted to a YouTube channel that he had told Suriya a one-liner about a movie while they were actually filming Jai Bhim, and Suriya had been persuaded.
The film’s pre-production work is reportedly keeping the director busy, and the shooting is expected to start in the middle of 2023. However, there hasn’t been a formal statement made about it.
Jai Bhim, meanwhile, recently celebrated its first year in theatres. Suriya expressed his excitement about the role of lawyer Chandru and stated on his social media accounts that it was a highlight of his career. On his social media account, he posted: “Happy to commemorate #JaiBhim for a year. From the script to the final cut, this movie only got better and better. I am grateful to my brother @tjgnan Gnanavel & Team for making this profound movie. A pivotal role in my career is that of lawyer Chandru! (sic).” The production company for the movie posted a sneak peek of the movie with the caption, “Celebrating the victory of Justice! #1YearOfJaiBhim! (sic)” on its social media account.
Jai Bhim examines police discrimination and brutality toward members of the underprivileged community. A couple from the Irular community are central to the story, as is Sengeni’s pursuit of justice with the aid of Justice Chandru, played by Suriya. A real-life case that Justice K Chandru fought in 1993 served as the basis for the plot. Suriya, Lijimol Jose, Manikandan, Rajisha Vijayan, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, MS Bhaskar, Ilavarasu, and Kumaravel are just a few of the star cast members.
