Soori is a top actor in cinema and runs hotels in many places in Madurai. He runs a vegetarian restaurant called “Amman Restaurant” and a non-vegetarian restaurant called “Ayyan Restaurant”. These restaurants are taken care by Soori’s brother.

Amman Restaurant, which has several branches, is currently open in “Madurai Government Hospital Canteen”. Here all the variety of rice like yoghurt rice, ghee sambar rice, tomato rice, lemon rice is just Rs.30. A full meal with sambar, rasam and yoghurt is only Rs.60. The canteen was recently opened by the Finance Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Speaking to reporters after attending the opening ceremony, Soori said all those who come to government hospitals are poor, sick and suffering. We wanted to give them good food that tastes good and at a reasonable price. Amman Canteen, which has the support of the people, is currently being set up at the Madurai Government Hospital, he said. The emphasis is on quality rather than profit, and praise is heaped on Soori’s thinking for the poor.
