The 75th Cannes Film Festival kicks off on the 17 May 2022 in France. The Central Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has released the list of Indian actors and actresses who will be participating in the event.
Accordingly, the Indian delegation will be lead by Union Minister Anurag Thakur. Musician A.R. Rahman, Actor Akshay Kumar and Shekar Kapoor will be given a red carpet welcome at the Cannes Film Festival. Apart from this, Tamil actresses Nayanthara, Tamannaah and Pooja Hegde, Actors Madhavan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will also be present.
Actor R. Madhavan will be walking on the red carpet of Cannes 2022. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, a biographical drama film based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer of the Indian Space Research Organisation film will be premiered at the event. The film is produced by Madhavan and will be showcased on 19 May 2022.
The music maestro A.R. Rahman expressed his fondness for BTS as he shared a story on Instagram that had a short clip of K.Pop band performing with Lil Nas X on his hit song, Old Town Road.
Apart from these celebrities, CBFC Chief Prasoon Joshi, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, and music composer Ricky Rej amongst others will also be gracing the event with their presence. This year’s Cannes Film Festival 2022 will take place from May 17 to May 26.
