Vikram was looking forward to the release of Cobra, directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu. Released on Vinayagar Chaturthi, the film was released in four languages. It received mixed reviews. The film crew trimmed 20 minutes from the length of the film especially after the comments were raised about the length of the film. However, the collection of Cobra did not take off.
Cobra collected 9 crores on the first day at the box office, but the collections declined on the following two days. It is said that the collection of Cobra film has gradually decreased, so only if it collects moderately on Saturdays and Sundays, this film will avoid a major decline. Vikram is a bit upset because the film released after working hard in such bad situations is not doing well. Apart from that, he is confident that Ponniyin Selvan, which will be released next, will definitely be a hit. Cobra has collected Rs 4.70 crore in India on Sunday (04 September 2022). Currently the total collection of the film in Tamil Nadu is Rs.21 crores. At this rate, the film will cross Rs. 25 crore in the state this weekend. After the initial trim, the Cobra has been receiving mixed reviews.
