Directed by Sudha Kongara and starring Surya, the film “Soorarai Pottru” was released live on Amazon Prime in November 2020. For actor Surya, who had been expecting mass success for a long time, the film Soorarai Pottru helped Surya to move to the next level with huge success. This film is the real life story of G.R. Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan.
The film has garnered various awards internationally since its release. Soorarai Pottru is being remake in Hindi by the director Sudha Kongara. While talks were on with Ajay Devgn, John Abraham, Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan to play the role Surya’s Mara in the film, finally Akshay Kumar will play the lead role.
Radhika Madan plays the role of Aparna Balamurali, who played in Tamil. Radhika played the role of Shalini in the popular TV series ‘Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi (Urave Uyire in Tamil). Surya Jyotika’s 2D Entertainment is producing the Hindi film Soorarai Pottru. Actor Surya plays the cameo role in the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru. Surya has shared a photo with Akshay Kumar on his Twitter page that he will be making a special appearance in the film. In his Twitter page Surya wrote,
