Internet users laud the teaser for Disney’s reimagining of the ancient classic Peter Pan & Wendy for its inclusive portrayal of diversity. In this adaptation, Tinker Bell is portrayed by Yara Shahidi, and Peter Pan is portrayed by Alexander Molony. Jude Law has been cast as the wicked Hook. The animated masterpiece from 1953 was the first Peter Pan movie.
A person commented, “Grown adults getting upset about a trailer for a movie that’s designed for kids is amusing,” referring to the attention the teaser has generated on Instagram, where Disney+ unveiled it.
Although the teaser has already received more than 86,000 likes, some fans have been vocal about their displeasure with Disney for redoing timeless films that were just flawless in their original forms. Nonetheless, the variety that is depicted in the movie is also getting praise from the teaser. I don’t see anything wrong with variety in the remakes, another person writes. As the remakes include more variety than the originals had, it is beneficial for children of all ethnicities to be able to identify with their favourite films.
In the movie’s trailer, Wendy and her two brothers may be seen looking for Peter Pan. The spectator gets to take in the wonder of the remote, mysterious island of Neverland as they follow him.
On April 28, the movie will have its premiere on Disney’s own channel.
